Commissioning a portrait is an interactive process. During the first meeting I like to get a clear understanding of the commissioner`s wishes. Obviously likeness of features and character must be visible in the portrait and also size and wishes concerning a setting in which the sitter will be portrayed will be discussed in a first meeting. As a reference, and especially with young children (as they can`t pose for a long time), I use photos. I prefer to take my own pictures, because I want to be in contact with the person I am going to portray. For me painting a portrait is not only about a well resembling realistic representation. I want to get an impression of how people are in real life and add this to my inspiration to make each portrait I paint as a special and unique work.The price of the painting is determined by its size. For instance a portrait size 7.8 x 7.8 inch costs € 950. A portrait size 31.4 x 39.3 inch costs € 4000.
