"Artists, composers, singers, dancers and writers, all have a memorable effect on me. But once in a while it is more precious to notice something less obvious and more supervisual.
A sidelong glance, non-posed images, the structure of a face shrouded by light. Fleeting moments I try to grasp and that help me to give my painting it`s own story. With the added bonus, that I`ve noticed something, someone else would otherwise have missed...Glimpses of complex emotions, sometimes shot through with a hint of a movement, or a carefully relaxed pose - but always demanding, in that the viewer must make their own interpretation of the before and the after: to create their own story that synchronises a narrative with the artist’s own snapshot of time."
